LPN's provide clinical support to providers in order to 'deliver patient-centered care with compassion and excellence'. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both technical excellence and emotional intelligence.Essential Functions:Prepares patient for physician visit by documenting the patient's chief complaints, obtaining and documenting appropriate vital signs (height, weight, and temperature), as well as completing any necessary paperwork for the patient experiencePerforms clinical duties such as injections and immunizations, other forms of medication administration, breathing treatments, Pulmonary Function Testing, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education, and assisting physician with proceduresPerforms laboratory testing such as specimen collection, finger sticks/heel sticks, performing tests, recordkeeping, and reportingProvides indirect patient care in the phone triage setting. Will work with the physicians about the patient's clinical condition and symptomatologyWorks closely with physicians and residents to ensure patient and family needs are metOther Functions:Responsible for scheduling patient appointments when necessaryCrash cart: checks and maintains cart, AED on a rotating basisProvides excellent, clear documentation in every area of the officeResponsible for requesting patient prescription refills from the physician and ensuring eligibilityCompletes clinical miscellaneous items such as school/sports physical forms, immunization certificates, obtaining patients lab results, etcMaintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conductComplies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all timesPerforms other duties as assignedAdditional Job Description:Education:Associate degree in nursing (required)Experience: One year of LPN medical office experience (preferred)Licensure:Active Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)Certificates:Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
