SUMMARY OF POSITION The Asset Management Assistant supports the accurate collection, entry, and updating of asset data in GIS and asset management systems. This position involves performing regular data checks to ensure the quality and integrity of asset information, assisting in spatial analysis and asset mapping, and helping to create and update maps, charts, and reports for internal stakeholders. The role includes fieldwork, such as conducting walk-throughs of newly constructed assets and performing warranty inspections to ensure proper documentation. The assistant also serves as a point of contact for responding to open records requests related to asset data, ensuring compliance with transparency laws and organizational policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for accurate collection, entry, and updating of asset information in the asset management and GIS systems (field work). Performs regular data checks to ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of asset data. Supports the creation, update, and management of GIS layers related to asset locations, conditions, and lifecycle information. Performs spatial analysis and asset mapping to visualize data for decision-making. Creates and updates asset maps, charts, and related reports for various internal stakeholders. Monitors and maintains the GIS and asset management system to ensure data is current and accessible. Works closely with cross-functional teams and Asset Management Analysts to ensure asset data is accurate and reflects operational needs. Conducts walk-throughs of newly constructed assets or facilities, ensuring that all elements are properly recorded and documented (field work). Performs warranty walkthroughs for newly constructed or renovated assets to ensure compliance with warranty terms and conditions (field work).

Serves as a point of contact for managing and responding to open records requests related to asset information, GIS data, and system records. Reviews, gathers, and compiles relevant data from asset management and GIS systems in response to public records requests. Ensures that responses to records requests comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies regarding transparency and confidentiality. Collaborates with legal, compliance, or public relations teams to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of public information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the below Minimum Qualifications may be an acceptable substitute.

High school diploma or GED supplemented by completed coursework in geography or GIS, supplemented by 1 (one) year previous experience and/or training utilizing ESRI ArcGIS Pro.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proven track record of strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset applied to complex work environments Demonstrated attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of accuracy and data integrity. Enthusiasm for learning and adopting new technologies and processes, particularly in asset management and GIS. Experience working effectively in team -oriented environments, with a positive attitude and a collaborative approach. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must pass a drug screen and background check. Must have Class C Texas Driver's License

Physical Demands/Supplemental

PHYSICAL

DEMANDS Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (25 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Some tasks require visual and sound perception and discrimination and oral communications ability.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Essential functions are regularly performed within the office environment. Requires some field visits and exposure to adverse outdoor conditions including weather conditions, traffic, extreme noises, odor, vibrations and gases.
