Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network security appliances across on-premise and cloud environments. Lead the design and development of secure, scalable, and high-performance network and system architectures that align with business and mission objectives. Define and document system architecture, data flows, and network integrations to support enterprise IT services and applications. Collaborate with infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure the successful implementation of network and system designs. Provide technical guidance in support of secure configurations, ATO documentation, and compliance with federal and NSS security frameworks. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, monitor performance, and recommend improvements for system reliability and scalability. Evaluate emerging networking technologies and industry best practices to enhance performance, security, and maintainability. Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning by designing resilient network architectures and documenting contingency procedures. Mentor junior engineers and support staff, contributing to team growth and knowledge sharing. Communicate technical solutions, trade-offs, and architecture decisions to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. Ensure all network systems meet applicable regulatory and cybersecurity requirements (NIST and CNSS) and implement security measures to protect data integrity and availability. Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline AND a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience OR a Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in information systems, network engineering, or a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in information systems, network engineering, or related technical field. Must have an Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility. Must be a U.S. citizen Certification in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or higher certification. Strong communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to relay concise messaging to all levels of management. Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex network issues across LAN/WAN environments. Strong knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto network capabilities, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting of routing, switching, firewall, and VPN solutions. Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, and Wireshark. Knowledge of cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN. Proven experience with advanced routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, as well as network automation tools including Ansible and Python scripting. Solid understanding of wireless networking technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi 6, WPA3), network traffic optimization techniques, and VoIP infrastructure. Experience working in hybrid cloud environments and with network infrastructure design, including on-premises and cloud solutions.
