You'll architect advanced testing solutions, champion best practices, and drive the implementation of our shift-left testing strategy. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of quality engineering at AssetMark while working with cutting-edge testing technologies.We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Architecture:Design and architect advanced automation frameworks and testing patternsImplement performance and security testing strategiesCreate reusable test components and utilities for the entire teamEvaluate and recommend testing approaches and technologiesBuild test infrastructure as code and establish testing standardsQuality Strategy & Innovation:Design comprehensive test strategies for complex features and systemsChampion test-driven development practices across engineering teamsGuide shift-left testing implementation and establish quality gatesAddress complex testing challenges and technical debtBalance test coverage with delivery timelines and business objectivesMentorship & Process Improvement:Mentor QA engineers on technical skills and career developmentLead testing technical discussions and represent QA in cross-functional meetingsImprove testing processes and methodologies based on industry best practicesImplement risk-based testing approaches and optimization strategiesInterview QA candidates at all levels and contribute to team buildingCollaboration & Influence:Partner effectively with product managers, architects, and engineering leadsTranslate quality needs into technical solutions and communicate constraintsLead quality-focused design reviews and advocate for testabilityParticipate in architectural decisions with focus on quality implicationsDrive testing innovation and evaluate build vs. buy decisions for testing toolsAdvanced Testing Capabilities:Implement advanced CI/CD test pipelines and quality automationDevelop custom testing utilities and framework enhancementsCreate comprehensive testing strategies for microservices architecturesEstablish testing approaches for cloud-native applications (AWS preferred)Lead testing for enterprise-level initiatives and complex integrationsWhat We're Looking ForEducation & Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance2+ years of experience in senior or lead QA rolesProven track record of building and scaling test automation frameworksTechnical Expertise:Expert-level knowledge of modern testing frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc.)Advanced experience with API testing and microservices testing strategiesStrong background in performance testing tools (Gatling, Locust, JMeter)Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesExperience with cloud-native testing strategies (AWS preferred)Proficiency in multiple programming languages and testing librariesKnowledge of test infrastructure as code and containerizationLeadership & Strategy:Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions and drive quality initiativesExperience mentoring engineers and building high-performing teamsStrong communication skills with ability to present to engineering leadershipProven track record of implementing testing transformationsExperience with agile methodologies and quality engineering practicesSoft Skills:Strategic thinking with ability to balance technical excellence and business needsStrong problem-solving skills for complex technical challengesExcellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teamsPassion for quality engineering and continuous improvementAbility to work effectively in distributed global team environmentsWhy Join AssetMark?Lead technical initiatives in a transformative quality engineering journeyWork with cutting-edge testing technologies and modern development practicesShape the testing strategy for a growing wealth management platformCollaborate with senior engineering leadership on strategic initiativesOpportunity for career growth into leadership roles within the organizationMake a meaningful impact on financial advisor technology and client outcomesReady to Transform Quality Engineering?Join our mission to elevate quality from a phase to a principle. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
