Overview

GovCIO is currently looking for a/an DB2 Database Administrator for our Courts proposal. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

Performs data movement, troubleshoots issues, and writes scripts to perform common database tasks.

Maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.

Performs installs, configuration, migrations, restores, and monitors the security and performance of the systems are not compromised.

Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.

Prepares and delivers presentations on DBMS concepts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 2-5 years (or commensurate experience)

Full knowledge of the job. Moderate understanding of the general aspects of the job and its application.

Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness and overall accuracy.

Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources.

Strong DB2 database analytical and decision making skills

Demonstrated DB2 database configuration and administration experience

Demonstrated DB2 database performance tuning experience

Demonstrated DB2 database backup and data recovery experience

Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux system administration skills

Linux DB2 Version 9+ experience

Experience in setting up High Availability environments with DB2 9+ Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions

Able to mentor peers and client staff

Able to provide occasional weekend/off-hours support

Basic scripting experience

Demonstrated Informix SQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and data recovery experience

Demonstrated Informix SQL report writing experience

Demonstrated Microsoft SQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and datarecovery experience

Demonstrated Microsoft SQL report writing experience

Demonstrated MySQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and data recovery experience

Demonstrated MySQL report writing experience

Clearance Required: Ability to acquire and maintain Public Trust

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $75,000.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr.
