Positions in the classification rely on experience and judgment to provide complex case management services on difficult, sensitive, and specialized cases involving abused, neglected, and/or exploited children. Assignments are given with general guidelines and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines and methods to deliver services. Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements. Social Worker Practitioner - CPS This class is distinguished from the Social Worker Practitioner-CPS in that the latter performs casework requiring the highest level of skill and the application of advanced social work theory. This classification is further distinguished from the Social Worker III classification in that the latter maintains a caseload of clientele through programs other than child welfare. This is the highest working-level classification in the Social Worker-CPS series, incumbents regularly work on tasks which are varied and complex, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgment. Positions in the classification rely on experience and judgment to provide complex case management services on difficult, sensitive, and specialized cases involving physically, sexually, and/or emotionally abused, neglected, and/or exploited children. Education Reimbursement Program:
Full-time, permanent employees are eligible to receive up to $500 for units earned toward an associate's degree, or up to $1,500 for units toward a bachelor's or master's degree. Permanent employees who work at least half-time are eligible. Extra help employees are not eligible. Courses must be to increase their knowledge or ability to perform their present job or to prepare for a higher level job with the County. This program is subject to annual funding.
Flexible Benefits Program:
