CNC Milling Technician (Milling Set Up/Programmer) Join our team as a CNC Milling Technician (Milling Set Up/Programmer) at ARCH Medical Solutions in Elmhurst, IL. This position requires support for our Kenosha, WI facility as needed. Position Overview Responsible for planning and performing a variety of machine operations on numerical control machining centers to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces to specifications. Must be capable of reading and writing programs, adjusting them proficiently, and performing top setup and operation with troubleshooting skills. Key Responsibilities Interpret blueprints, technical data, and planning sheets to determine tooling, setup procedures, and machining sequences. Program machines using appropriate software to meet specifications. Operate diversified CNC lathes and machining centers, performing milling, drilling, boring, and related operations within tight tolerances. Review job travelers, setup sheets, and specifications to determine machining sequences and dimensions. Set up fixtures, select and install cutting tools, and operate controls to machine parts. Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and perform inspections to ensure quality standards are met. Make adjustments to correct out-of-tolerance conditions and perform machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Work with various materials including aluminum, titanium, plastic, and stainless steel. Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical school preferred; 7-10 years of related experience or equivalent training. Experience with programming software such as SolidWorks and Mastercam. Knowledge of machining various materials and setting up Milling, Turning, Swiss-turning machines. Understanding of G-codes, M-codes, and geometric tolerancing standards. Additional Requirements Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documents in English, communicate effectively, and use basic manufacturing software and ERP systems (EPICOR preferred). Must work in an environment with machinery, requiring safety awareness, alertness, and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Work Environment & Physical Demands Indoor environment around high-speed machinery, requiring safety glasses, with exposure to oil, metal filings, and noise. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, and handle materials physically.
