Direct message the job poster from Global Retool Group Job Title: Mechanical Machine Tool Build Specialist Position Summary: This role is responsible for building engineering documentation, supervising teams, collaborating cross-functionally, and supporting full machine lifecycle activities—from initial build to final customer acceptance and ongoing service. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Mechanical Build & Assembly Interpret and build from mechanical engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation. Perform high-precision mechanical assembly of custom automation systems and machine tools. Maintain exceptional workmanship, accuracy, and fit-and-finish according to GRG quality standards. Lead and mentor assigned mechanical build teams and external contractors as required. Report daily build progress, issues, and updates to the Mechanical Build Lead, contributing to scheduling and planning. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering, Controls, Installation, and Project Management teams across the full project lifecycle—from initial build through debug, validation, and commissioning (Cradle-to-Grave). Participate in project planning, scope clarification, and proactively resolve design ambiguities and build-related challenges. Support machine debug, runoff, and teardown activities alongside electrical and controls teams at GRG and customer sites. Collaborate with engineers across mechanical, electrical, and controls discipline during builds, product testing, and system validation. Field Service & Maintenance Assist with mechanical installation and commissioning at customer facilities, including generation of service and progress reports. Provide aftermarket support such as emergency repair services, scheduled maintenance, and system upgrades. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on installed equipment. Documentation & Reporting Ensure timely and accurate completion of all service, warranty, and maintenance reports for internal and customer distribution. Coordinate with the Documentation Department to confirm all drawings, manuals, electrical prints, and sequences of operation are current and properly filed. Maintain organized project documentation and ensure all field operation and upgrade records are stored in the correct network location. Maintain transparent and proactive communication with assigned project teams to ensure alignment and issue visibility. Provide meaningful feedback on product improvements and customer experience to internal teams and leadership. Participate in project kickoffs, engineering reviews, and post-project “lessons learned” sessions with Sales, Engineering, and customer stakeholders. Job Requirements: ·5–10 years of hands-on experience in machine tool building, automation assembly, or mechanical systems integration. ·Strong ability to read, interpret, and build from complex mechanical drawings and CAD models. ·Working knowledge of machining processes and tools. ·Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting and critical thinking. ·Proven leadership skills and ability to supervise and motivate technical teams. ·Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. ·Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. ·Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). ·Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to support customer projects.
