Position Overview
BlackDoctor.org is seeking a Director, Business Intelligence to lead the development and execution of data-driven strategies that support our sales team, content, marketing, and audience development efforts. This role is ideal for a hands-on analytics professional who thrives at the intersection of data science, digital engagement, and pharma. You will manage projects, analyze diverse data sources, and generate actionable insights that advance BDO's mission.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics & Insights
Design and implement advanced analytical models to support user segmentation, content personalization, health behavior analysis, and campaign performance. Analyze large and complex data sets from web, social media, CRM, survey, and health databases to inform strategy. Build dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio to support cross-functional decision-making. Audience Intelligence
Develop and execute a comprehensive audience intelligence strategy rooted in behavioral, demographic, and psychographic data. Build and maintain audience segments that inform personalized content, marketing, and sales strategies. Map and analyze audience journeys across platforms to uncover key engagement drivers and retention patterns. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for editorial, partnerships, and product teams. Create dynamic user personas and audience dashboards to guide internal planning and brand storytelling. Data-Driven Strategy & Impact
Collaborate with sales, editorial, partnerships, and marketing teams to align data insights with business goals. Identify emerging health trends and shifts in user behavior to inform proactive strategy. Lead development of data-driven reports for advertisers, partners, sponsors, and public health organizations that showcase reach, engagement, and health outcomes. Data Management & Operations
Ensure high data quality, consistent tracking, and proper tagging across platforms (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Firebase). Maintain and document ETL processes and data pipelines to support scalable analytics. Ensure data practices comply with HIPAA, GDPR, and ethical standards. Team Collaboration & Support
Train and empower team members on data tools, reporting platforms, and analytical best practices. Manage and mentor junior analysts or interns as the team scales. Champion a data-literate culture across BDO by modeling curiosity, rigor, and clarity. Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or related field. 5+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in digital media, healthcare, or public health. Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4), CRM data (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), and social listening platforms is a plus. Strong analytical thinking with the ability to turn complex data into compelling insights. Understanding of health disparities and the importance of culturally relevant health communication. Excellent project management and communication skills.
