Job Responsibilities
Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation:
Identify potential safety hazards on construction sites and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Collaborate with project teams to establish site-specific safety plans and procedures. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences. Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure that all construction activities adhere to relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, corrective actions, and training activities. Communication and Training:
Promote a culture of safety by effectively communicating safety expectations and standards to all construction site personnel. Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to address specific safety concerns and topics. Provide guidance and support to subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with safety protocols. Emergency Response and Preparedness:
Develop emergency response plans and procedures for various potential incidents, such as fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters. Coordinate with emergency services and personnel to ensure swift and effective response to emergencies. Continuous Improvement:
Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Propose and implement enhancements to safety programs based on lessons learned and industry best practices. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are highly desirable. Proven experience in construction safety management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role. In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations pertaining to construction. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in using relevant safety software, tools, and technology for documentation and reporting.
