The Tier 1 Technician requirements may vary according to client-determined assignments, but the basic job requirement is the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation systems deployed at various G2 client data centers. The Tier 1 technician is expected to be a generalist, with multi-disciplinary skills and knowledge including electrical and mechanical equipment assessment.

What You'll Do

Comply with CBRE and Client quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

Conduct Operational Readiness Site Walks to verify that the NavSystem (floor taping and geotags) is in good repair. Complete and document repairs.

Spot-check all automation equipment - including support equipment - to assure readiness and good repair.

Function as the first responder to triage robotics and automation operational issues, following well-defined and structured troubleshooting procedures ("playbooks") developed by the Client.

Respond within agreed-upon time-frame to production requests for assistance with in-production equipment recovery or repair.

Perform Preventative and Predictive maintenance and calibrations of existing equipment of the systems per well-defined schedules and procedures in place at the time the contract is initiated. Document all actions with machine ID, actions performed per defined documentation, and date/duration.

Provide mechanical and control system onsite technical support and troubleshooting for existing automated equipment.

Assist with setup and possibly testing of new equipment

Assist with moving materials and equipment for automation

Communicate with machine operators and engineering to troubleshoot issues.

Document issues and issue resolution within the Client's system (Buganizer, EAM)

Participate in continuous improvement efforts, corrective action formulation, and root-cause investigation when necessary.

Document machine history and operational observations

Attend meetings as requested by Manager.

Complete training requirements as communicated by CBRE and Manager.

Maintain certifications required to perform maintenance and sustainability efforts as directed by Manager.

Complete CBRE/Manager-assigned administrative tasks in an expeditious and conscientious manner

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

What You'll Need

Training or experience in an industrial production maintenance position (1 year+)

General understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics and how to read them

Proficient use of basic hand tools, including calibration tools and digital multimeter

Moderate proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to walk/stand/stoop/squat/kneel for extended periods without strain

Ability to understand and communicate technical information

Some familiarity with networking, PLCs and HMIs, ethernet and wifi

Travel: up to 10%

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.

Physical Demands:

Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking

Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds

Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)

Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces

Required:

Electrical and electronic principles

Preventative maintenance procedures

Knowledge of PLC programs

PC competency, Word & Excel, Kindle Platforms and Windows OS

Preferred:

Desire to learn about and work with conveyor systems and client specific robots

Good mechanical and technical aptitude

Curious nature with a desire to learn, repair and troubleshoot material handling equipment (MHE)

Understanding of LINIX and/or SQL.

Advanced knowledge of Electrical concepts (ie: wiring of a 3 phase motor).

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
