GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Under the direction of the Manager of Test Engineering & Fabrication, the Test Driver's primary responsibility is the driving, cleaning and inspecting a variety of compact equipment in our local test field.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Driving: Safely operate prototype construction equipment in the endurance test area per pre-described functional operations. Document and record machine hours and any incidents that occur while operating test machines. Inspections:

Steam clean and inspect test units at defined intervals. Perform daily inspection for leaks and damage to the machine. Perform daily maintenance on each machine driven (check oil, air cleaner, etc). Incremental weather jobs - Periodically the weather will impede machine operation. On these days, other work will be assigned to support other departments. Examples are general cleanup of facilities including sweeping, garbage clean up, and shop organization, snow removal or maintenance. EXPERIENCE:

Valid driver's license mechanical background is preferred EXPERTISE:

Understanding of safe driving techniques Prior experience with operating construction or agricultural machinery is preferred Physically fit (i.e. able to climb in and out of machines, bend to inspect machines, sit for long periods of time, etc.) EDUCATION:

High School Diploma Required INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

Design Engineers - periodic discussions about machine performance Test Engineers - periodic discussions about machine performance and test definition support Test Technicians - periodic interactions for repair, service, and machine performance PAY RANGE:

Base Pay Range between $20 - $21 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics *Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

This position is located in West Bend, WI No travel required.
