EHS manager will primarily drive and support site EHS management initiatives at the Van Buren Plant in line with the global Journey to EHS Excellence. Together with the operations, engineering, and maintenance teams, the EHS manager will improve overall safety performance of the Van Buren plant. This position will have a broad range of responsibilities within the environmental, health, and safety area for the Van Buren site. The position may require the candidate to spend time (20 - 25%) out in the plant. This position may be required to periodically work off scheduled hours, nights, or weekends to complete critical tasks. After hours interaction with plant site or vendors may be required utilizing email, phone, text, etc.1. LEVEL 1 - ROLEDrive EHSQ excellence culture and improvementsDevelop/design EHSQ policies, procedures, and best practicesSet EHSQ goals and objectives for the Van Buren plant EHSQMS element ownerAll employees are responsible for:Compliance with procedures that implement the requirements of the EHSQ policies and proceduresBeing responsible for their own actionsCarrying out their work in a manner which does not present a risk to themselves, others, and the environmentReporting all incidents, defects, hazards, and inadequacies of procedures so that appropriate review and corrective action can be taken.Suggesting improvements and being active in the general improvement of all systems and methods of work to ensure EHSQ supports activities and services are carried out in a safe, environmentally responsible, reliable, and cost-effective manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Champion and lead the overall site environmental and safety programDevelop and establish an effective EHS program that will yield year-on-year improvementsWork with site management and corporate EHS to create/develop a strong safety culture at all levels of the Van Buren site organizationLead process safety management (PSM) and dust hazards analysis (DHA) compliance activitiesProvide technical assistance in helping with hazard elimination, prevention, and mitigation and the resolution of other safety issuesCoach and assist manager/leaders in the development and implementation of effective safety programAssis and participate with department and site-wide safety teamsInspect, audit, and monitor equipment, work areas and work practices and procedures for compliance with established health and safety rules and regulationsLead the efforts to ensure action items stemming from incidents, near misses, audits, inspections, and observations are prioritized and followed up to completionDevelop safety training, policy development, and safety promotionDevelop and help administer e-learning coursesAssist with new and modified processes, equipment, product development to ensure safety is included at all levels of design through implementation.Actively participate in the MOC (management of change) process to ensure safety and environmental aspects are covered during the MOC process.Participate in safety and industrial hygiene reviews, routine safety inspections and incident investigations, making appropriate recommendationsAssist with the contract safety program by developing and ensuring the contractor training is up to date and being delivered appropriatelyMaintain accurate plant safety statistics, incident rates, progress against corporate and plant objectives and provide routine updates to global safety utilizing the safety data management system.Management of the Benchmark website applications for the site, position is the super-user for this application with comprehensive knowledge of all applications to include training other site personnel in the use of Benchmark.Participate in the Tate & Lyle Solutions network committee meetings and be the conduit for communication and information between the committeeLead the roll out of new committee initiatives at the plantDevelop the budget for the site safety cost center and manage spending to stay within budgetWork with local area safety professionals to share ideas within the Van Buren community and participate in drills and emergency response.Develop site specific emergency drills and ensure they are performed on the agreed upon schedule.Prepare and submit all the environmental regulatory reports to the city of Van Buren and Arkansas DEQReceive environment inspections and audits from the City of Van Buren and the EPATate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $101,200 Annually In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes but is not limited to: Medical, Dental, Vision coveragesPaid time off package, including vacation, sick time, and 16 weeks of paid parental leave401K with company matchCompany paid life insuranceAdditional benefits at not cost to employee such as: Lifestyle Spending Account, Identity Theft protection, Employee Assistance Program, telemedicine and more!
