Position Summary
Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Associate Dean/Department Chair at the Indianapolis campus. The Associate Dean/Department Chair will provide strategic and administrative direction, vision, and leadership to the department by establishing yearly goals and objectives to accomplish these goals.
The Associate Dean/Department Chair is responsible for the administration, teaching, and scholarship activities of the Department. The Associate Dean/Department Chair is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and participates in faculty governance as outlined in the IUSON faculty Assembly Bylaws. This position reports to the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Basic Qualifications Earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), nursing major preferred; If PhD is not in nursing a master's degree in nursing required. Eligible for appointment as a tenured full professor. Teaching experience in higher education programs in nursing. Evidence of positive interpersonal and group process skills. Knowledge of current developments in nursing education and practice. Experience with state and national nursing education accreditation and approval processes preferred. Evidence of contributions to nursing through research/scholarly activities and creative endeavors. Must have a current unencumbered Indiana Nursing License or eligible to obtain at the time of appointment. Department Contact for Questions
