Project Cost Controls Specialist

POWER Engineers, member of WSP one of the nation's strongest energy-related engineering and environmental consultants, is currently seeking a Project Cost Controls Specialist.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Controls Specialist works closely with the Project Manager in the overall management of the project. This individual must have an intermediate understanding of complex projects and how they work, high levels of cost knowledge, and the ability to interact productively with key members of a project team with a variety of backgrounds. An intermediate level of understanding of Earned Value Management is also a must. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

Identify work scope, technical sequencing, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Communicate with various project teams and internal work groups

Work with engineering managers to ensure the schedule represents the execution plan

Report project progress to project manager leads and provide visibility to critical deliverables through regular meetings

Utilize look-ahead schedules to help manage the work with internal teams

Prepare cost performance and cash flow projections utilizing budget

Manage changes and keep teams aware of changes to the budget and schedule

Update individual tasks and Project Performance Indicators as indicated on progress updates

Review and report on project accruals and expenditures.

Assist with project closeout

Ideal candidate should be a self-starter and able to work independently

Required Education/Experience

BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management

Advanced MS Excel skills

Candidate must have 4 years of professional experience

Desired Education/Experience

Electrical utilities and power distribution experience is desirable

Certification from AACE or PMI is desirable

ERP, P6, and MS Project knowledge is desirable

Base Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
