The Flight Simulators group

supports Honeywell Avionics products by developing software solutions and integrated simulation applications incorporating avionics software from Honeywell Primus EPIC, Flight Displays, Flight Mgmt (FMS), Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning Systems (EGPWS), TWAS, and Aircraft Surveillance systems.

As an Application Software Engineer

in the Flight Simulation group, within Honeywell Aerospace Service & Technology, you will play a crucial role in developing software solutions for Flight Simulation Software and PC-based Flight Management System (FMS) applications. You will also support integrated simulation software solutions for Honeywell Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWSim) and Aircraft Environment Surveillance Systems (AESSim).

You will be instrumental in ensuring the successful implementation of FMS software, enabling the simulation of real-world flight scenarios and contributing to the advancement of the aviation technology.

Key Responsibilities

You will work with software for Honeywell’s Epic Application Simulation Environment (EASE) and serve as a Primary Developer for rehosted software solutions for Primus Epic ™ FMS (Flight Management System) which runs in a windows environment utilizing Honeywell's proprietary DEOS real-time operating system.

Develop software solutions for rehosted Flight Simulation software, as well as Honeywell PC-FMS, which is a PC based version of the Honeywell Primus FMS (Flight Management System) line.

Develop and deploy PC-based FMS products that allow communication with display hardware and flight training devices in a cockpit environment.

Product updates and enhancements to PC-based FMSim application used by flight simulation customers to integrate cockpit Flight Management software.

Provide software-based links to FMS I/O interface to allow communication with flight hardware systems.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions

Manage project timelines, customer commitments, and resource

Develop expertise in Honeywell products (i.e. Primus Epic FMS, APEX system, Anthem Flight system) and Honeywell Aircraft Surveillance products (i.e. MKV, EGPWS, TAWS, TCAS, WXRDR)

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export

control

laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a relevant related Engineering field

Experience in software engineering, application development, or similar role

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks

Software skills (e.g. C/C++, C#, Python, Ada, among other languages)

WE VALUE

Experience with (Windows OR Linux) development environments and operating systems.

Excellent trouble shooting, problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Experience in ANY of the following is of value:

Experience with Real-time operating systems

Knowledge of I/O modules, ESCAPE registries, DLS

Ability to gather requirements from PVCS, DOORS, and multiple other system

Simulator environments and tools TATS, PCSim, TIU, EASE, FTD

Knowledge of operating systems such as DEOS

Familiarity with aircraft surveillance products, Avionics, Flight Simulation, AFCS (Automatic Flight

Control

), FMS (Flight Mgmt Systems), Displays or related is a plus.

Experience with Configuration Management

Debugging problems with multiple systems and recommending the path to resolution.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive results

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
