Overview
Assemble electronic or mechanical products from blueprints using assembly fixtures and power bench tools.
Cut & crimp wires, form, connect and perform simple soldering in accordance with instructions. Fit and align fine electronic assemblies, recognize defective parts, inspect and test final assemblies on a variety of assembly operations
Responsibilities
Experience with Kanban Inventory process
Count and record parts from inventory with accuracy using basic math skills
Communicate shortages, scrap and delays when applicable
Read caliper, tape measure and interpret work instructions
Identify the correct colored wire(s) per work instructions
Operate small hand and power tools
Perform cuts, crimps, connections and soldering
Use computer software to locate and print assembly drawings
Identify and obtain accurate assembly fixtures as called by Work Order
Assemble products to Work Order specifications
Perform assembly tasks to meet daily production standards of quality and quantity
Package product for shipment
Qualifications Education and Experience:
High school or general education (GED) preferred
Computer experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required
2 years mechanical or electrical assembly preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence.
Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning
Ability to use fine motor skills (hand and fingers) to routinely manipulate assemblies, hand and power tools, wires, fixtures, and parts
The job requires the operation of material handling equipment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand; bend, kneel, twist, reach overhead routinely to retrieve inventory or pack shipments
Required to maneuver routinely
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds routinely
Ability to lift 31 pounds to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance occasionally
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds over shoulders occasionally
Ability to lift over 25 pounds over shoulders rarely
Ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds regularly
Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
Required to climb a ladder regularly
Required to safely ride product up to 14 feet in the air while performing product testing
