Summary here.Under general direction, the Port’s Senior Waterfront Property Manager is responsible for marketing, leasing and managing the Port’s retail, commercial and industrial properties within the parameters of a regulatory environment. The Senior Property Manager is also responsible for carrying out, interpreting and coordinating existing policies, methods and procedures of the Port’s Real Estate & Development Division related to management and leasing of Port real estate.This is a management level position that requires experienced leadership and hands-on property, asset and facility management and analytic background. This position handles the more complex negotiating/leasing activities, significant property issues and direct supervision of various professional and support staff. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to make presentations to a variety of entities such as the Port Commission, Board of Supervisors, community groups and Port senior management.The essential functions of this position include:

Conducts market research and applies real estate principles to ensure the maximum economic utilization of Port lands and properties. Implement and manage marketing initiatives for vacant properties, including the use of data-driven digital advertising campaigns that target prospective tenants including the cost-effective use of available third-party property leasing applications. Develops and executes marketing strategies to support leasing goals, brand awareness, tenant retention and revenue growth across a portfolio of commercial properties, parks and open space Oversees design and production of marketing materials (flyers, brochures, signage, newsletters, online presence, etc.) Creates and maintains comprehensive property marketing materials, including clear, detailed and accurate property descriptions that include any restricted uses, physical limitations, or regulatory constraints for properties Port wide. Maintains and updates Port’s leasing website to ensure accurate and up to date content. Regularly reviews and provides written and oral recommendations for updates to leasing policies governing the use of Port property to reflect current market trends, best practices and regulatory requirements. Manages and oversees staff responsible for parks, open space and special events. Manages and coordinates staff efforts to lease properties and deliver customer service to tenants and stakeholders such as advisory groups and other City departments. Supervises the leasing and licensing of Port land and buildings for retail, office, commercial and industrial uses, subject to Port policies and City regulations and other regulatory agencies. Negotiates and actualizes complex leases and other tenancy agreements. Problem solves by analyzing situations, making recommendations and taking appropriate actions. Performs related duties as required.

Experience Five (5) years of verifiable experience in commercial and/or industrial real estate property or asset management which must have included negotiating, drafting, interpreting and administering commercial leases and other rental agreements, overseeing property maintenance, providing customer service and resolving problems between tenants and landlords, preparing original reports and correspondence and dealing directly with the public.Please Note: Experience limited to apartments, condos, single-family homes or residential property management with retail floor space primarily serving residential tenants, does not meet the qualifications for this role. License
Possession of a valid California driver’s license (to be presented at time of appointment). Employees must be insurable under the Port’s automobile liability insurance. Insurability must be maintained throughout employment. Substitution Education Substitution: Additional qualifying work experience as described above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis, up to two (2) years (One year of work experience is equal to 30 semester units or 45 quarter units).Experience Substitution: Possession of a master's or doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in real estate, business administration with a finance or real estate concentration, or law degree with a real estate concentration may substitute for one year of the required experience as described above.Seniority level
