POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides comprehensive social services to patients, family members and their significant others within the inpatient setting, while also providing clinical leadership and mentorship of all Marshall Social Work staff. Ensures consistent quality of service and compliance with regulatory standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Required. ACM Certification required Knowledge:

Minimum of 3 years of social worker experience in a health care setting. Knowledge of, and the ability to access, community resources. Knowledge of legal limitations and implications of clinical practice. Knowledge of care/services provided in differing levels of care: Ambulatory and institutional settings. Knowledge of biopsychosocial and behavioral health treatment plans Knowledge of chronic and acute disease and how it influences patient and family functioning. Knowledge of TJC regulations for LCSW competency assessment of MSW Skills:

Must have solid psychosocial assessment skills Must be able to master detailed and complex information regarding benefits and coordination of care. Skills to comprehend and assess patient's grievances to quickly locate appropriate resource for assistance. Analytical skills to identify and obtain pertinent data from multiple sources, accord each piece of information, the appropriate amount weight and consideration, and reach the appropriate logical conclusions/recommendations. Effective communication skills in both written and verbal form; self-directed with good organizational skills; therapeutic communication and counseling skills, as well as ability to perform mental status evaluations. Team building abilities. Skills to develop and implement individualized treatment plans using a wide variety of modalities.
