Overview:
Optimized Technical Solutions (OTS) is seeking an experienced and certified
Task Order Project Manager
to lead large and complex task orders in support of Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. The Task Order Project Manager will serve as a critical member of the leadership team, supporting the Program Manager and collaborating with Government stakeholders to ensure successful execution across all phases of the project lifecycle.
This position requires a proven leader with deep expertise in program management, systems engineering, and DoD acquisition policies. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, can build trusted relationships with Government representatives, and brings a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to every challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned task orders, ensuring timely execution of technical solutions and program deliverables.
Support the Program Manager in engagement with the Government KO, COR, Task Order Managers, and agency stakeholders.
Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities, risks, schedules, and deliverables.
Ensure compliance with contract requirements, DoD acquisition policies, and internal quality standards.
Lead cross-functional teams and provide day-to-day direction to technical staff to meet mission objectives.
Provide accurate, timely reporting and communication to both internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent nationally recognized credential).
A minimum of
10 years
of project management or relevant experience with increasing responsibility in IT and/or consulting.
A minimum of
15 years
of leadership experience in the IT or consulting sector.
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or an additional four (4) years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
Must hold an active Secret Clearance
Additional Required Certifications & Experience:
Must hold a DoD Approved
8570 / 8140 IAM Level III
Certification:
(CISSP, CISM, C-CISO, or GSLC)
Minimum of
2 years of experience
supporting DoD Program Acquisition Category (ACAT) I or ACAT III level IT development programs in areas such as:
Program Management (PM)
Systems Engineering (SE)
Quality Assurance
Cost Analysis (CA)
Configuration Management (CM)
Lifecycle documentation and compliance assessments
Preferred Traits:
Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Strong background managing high-visibility, mission-critical IT programs.
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies in defense environments.
Work Environment
Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by OTS.
