Our product is a personal finance management app for iOS and Mac that people actually love using. Copilot takes advantage of machine learning to deliver powerful, hyper-personalized finance data insights to help users effortlessly understand and manage their spending, budgeting, and investing. We also use crowdsourced feedback to continuously improve the experience.
Apple recently named us as a finalist for the 2024 Apple Design Awards, and has named Copilot one of the best finance apps in the App Store. And we're only getting started!

The Position
Copilot is looking for a Head of Engineering to partner closely with our CTO and lead the day-to-day management of our entire Engineering team. This includes our talented iOS, Web, and Backend engineers across our New York City S and Santiago, Chile C offices.
As we continue scaling our app across platforms, we're looking for a strong engineering leader who can help us stay nimble, aligned, and focused on quality. You will be instrumental in ensuring our engineering organization continues to deliver a best-in-class product while maintaining the velocity and culture that have defined our success to date.
This is a hybrid position based in New York City. You'll be required to come into our office at least 2 times a week along with the rest of the team. We work from home the rest of the week, but the office is always available in case you want to make use of it more often.
Your Responsibilities Support and develop engineering managers and team leads across iOS, Web, and Backend. Set clear goals, ensure strong execution, and build a high-performing, collaborative team. Help scale our engineering processes, including cycle planning, prioritization, hiring, and internal communication. Partner with Product, Design, and Operations teams to align on company goals and ensure efficient, transparent roadmapping and delivery. Work closely with our CTO and Staff Engineers to shape and refine our technical strategy, architecture, and platform investments. Champion a strong engineering culture rooted in trust, inclusion, autonomy, and continual improvement. Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with around 4 years in a leadership or management role. Proven experience managing cross-functional and multi-location teams. Background in consumer product development, preferably in high-scale mobile or fintech apps. Deep understanding of software development best practices across frontend and backend. Passion for building simple, elegant solutions to complex technical and human challenges. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Based in New York City or able to commute to our NYC office at least twice a week. Desired Qualifications
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment, ideally at the Series A/B/C stage. Exposure to or familiarity with our tech stack: Node.js, TypeScript, Firebase, Swift, React. Experience with Generative AI. Experience scaling engineering processes and teams. Previous involvement in recruiting, hiring, and team design at a strategic level. Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and data-driven product iteration. Compensation and Benefits
Annual Salary of $230k to $260k Equity in the company Health, Dental & Vision Insurance (company pays 100% premium for employee) 401k matching up to 4% Home Office Setup, and monthly Internet reimbursement (up to $80/month) Wellness Reimbursement ($100/month) 4 weeks of PTO. After 2 years in the company you get 5 extra vacation days, and 5 more after 4 years. Annual company retreats, the last one was in Chile C Annual week-long rotations between the US and Chile.
