Operations Coordinator Job Details

Primary Responsibilities This position is responsible for providing efficient, end-to-end coordination of New Service Requests and member-related concerns, serving as a central point of contact for both internal teams and Cooperative members. The role ensures timely processing and follow-through of service and work orders, from initiation to completion, while promoting a high standard of member service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include dispatching crews for trouble calls, supporting engineering and operations staff, reconciling contractor invoices for cost effectiveness, and assisting with general departmental administrative tasks. The individual in this role fosters a positive public image of the Cooperative through professional, courteous interactions, and works to instill an understanding of cooperative ownership and service philosophy. This position also serves as an on-call dispatcher and will assume dispatch duties as needed. Regular communication with the Engineering Supervisor and Line Superintendent is required to provide updates, progress reports, and support effective departmental oversight and delegation.

Essential Job Functions

Plans, schedules, and coordinates construction jobs, service requests, and system upgrades in a timely, efficient manner to ensure effective use of labor and high member satisfaction.

Serves as a dispatcher, including participation in an on-call rotation (after hours and weekends) and providing coverage for emergency dispatching during outages or system events such as storms until complete system restoration.

Utilizes Smart Track and other Cooperative systems to log and track outage reviews, blink orders, assessments, work history, maintenance and service activity, and mapping/GIS data updates.

Maintains required documentation for compliance reporting (e.g., OSHA, TCEQ, engineering reports, injury summaries).

Trains and supports other Operations Coordinators and designated backups to ensure consistent performance and preparedness.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree preferred, with 2–4 years of relevant experience in administrative coordination, dispatching, utility operations, or a similar role. A combination of education and directly related experience will be considered.

Technical Expertise & Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to assess and resolve operational or service-related issues using sound judgment.

Working knowledge of basic math, including percentages, ratios, and measurements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.

Must be available for on-call assignments and occasional travel within the NEC service area.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in service coordination, dispatching, or utility operations preferred

Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, staking sheets, and electrical standards.

Working knowledge of electrical safety rules and commitment to upholding safety protocols.

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
