Responsibilities: Uphold the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care Guiding Principles Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security are the responsibility of every PVS employee! Primary Job Function :
Individuals assigned to this position will be primarily responsible for safely transporting hazardous materials over the road while complying with all applicable regulations.
Primary Job Duties Include:
Perform pre- and post- trip inspection of trucks and trailers, Prompt reporting of all mechanical and structural issues with trucks and / or trailers and tankers, Ensure license and all relevant endorsements and certifications are current and valid, Adhere to the policies and principles in PVS Nolwood Buffalo's written Fleet Safety Policy & Driver Safety Manual and Driver Drug & Alcohol Policy, Ensure paperwork matches loaded material, Inspect incoming and outgoing materials and containers, Ensure all loads are properly secured, Maintain logs and appropriate forms, Fill in for other drivers, as required, Assist in warehouse, as required, Follow all PVS Nolwood Buffalo loading, unloading, delivery procedures, and checklists at customer and PVS Nolwood Buffalo facilities, Ensure vehicle(s) is / are kept clean and in an orderly condition, Represent PVS in a professional manner at all customer and supplier sites, Participate in PVS Nolwood driver meetings, Respond to emergencies as specified in the facility's Emergency Action Plan, Deliver products in a safe and efficient manner, Work safely by always following all the established rules of conduct, Notify inventory control and purchasing when product is missing in a delivery, Maintain material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making minor repairs, or notifying your supervisor of issues. New hire orientation, Incident and Accident Reporting Procedures, Hazard Communication, Entry Level Driver (if applicable), Respiratory and Fit Testing, Forktruck Classroom and Operation, Emergency Action Plan, Personal Protective Equipment, Fire Protection Plan, Process Safety Management, Walking-Working Surfaces, Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan, PVS Nolwood Buffalo Fleet Safety Policy & Driver Safety Manual, DEC Chemical Bulk Storage Requirements DOT Drum Inspection and Closure Procedures, DOT HazMat Employee HM-126F, Security Training, Specific Job Procedures from S&H 18.1 that may be included as part of an employee's job duties. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
All employees of PVS Nolwood Buffalo are expected to work safely, follow all procedures, and wear the proper PPE at all times on the job. PPE has been determined by the Safety Data Sheets, manufacturer recommendations, workplace hazard analysis and from personal exposure monitoring data. This PPE is provided by PVS Nolwood Buffalo and includes:
Steel-toe work shoes, Safety glasses, Sleeved shirts, High visibility clothing Additional PPE may be required based on the task or operation being performed. Refer to PVS Nolwood Buffalo's full PPE policy for specific requirements.
