Are you looking for a great opportunity to jumpstart your career, expand your technical skills, and learn more about the operation of U-Haul? Join our experienced and dedicated Mainframe Development team. No previous software developer experience is required. If you can provide a hard-working nature, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn, we will provide the training.
Requirements:
Pass Critical Thinking Test with an acceptable score
Be willing to work after hours and weekends occasionally (after the 4 month trainee period)
Be willing to work remotely, although exceptions are possible
Job Duties:
Attend training sessions, complete training assignments.
Be willing to work individually and in team setting.
Learn how to enhance existing code, develop new code, and resolve issues (bugs) on the mainframe platform.
Acquire associated mainframe tools such as JCL (scripting language for mainframe), Control-M (job scheduling), and Control-D (report viewing).
Be an advocate for U-Haul's business teams (learn processes, terminology, and key contacts).
Periodically update Azure DevOps work items to facilitate project throughput and management.
