PGS Worldwide is actively seeking an experienced
Embedded Software Engineer
for a
1-year contract-to-hire
opportunity in Grand Prairie, Texas. This position supports the flight software for the guidance electronics of a high-profile missile program and requires an
active Secret Clearance . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems development using C/C++ in real-time operating environments such as VxWorks.
Required Qualifications:
Active
Secret Clearance
- Required to start Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 6+ years of experience in
embedded software development
for flight or guidance electronics systems Proficiency in
C/C++
programming and embedded I/O integration Strong experience with
VxWorks Real-Time Operating Systems Comfortable working in
Agile and collaborative team environments Familiarity with configuration management tools such as
GitLab Experience using
JIRA
in agile workflows Exposure to
Xilinx (Vivado/Vitis) SDK tools
is preferred Key Responsibilities:
Develop, integrate, and maintain real-time embedded software for missile guidance electronics Perform hands-on coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of flight-critical software Interface directly with hardware components and support embedded I/O development Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with systems, hardware, and test engineers Utilize GitLab and other configuration management tools for source control and CI/CD Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes and practices
