This position provides day-to-

day

SCADA operations support

requiring diagnostic knowledge and experience to troubleshoot SCADA software/hardware and process control applications within specialized areas of SCADA, including client/server applications, system administration, security controls, Oracle and other database systems, and server hardware and software. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: May develop technical training materials for the area of responsibility. Conducts analyses and investigations of technical issues, prepares reports, and makes recommendations. Conducts technical studies, tests, inspections, and research for the area of responsibility. Prepares and reviews estimates, plans, submittals, design criteria, and specifications. Develops, prepares, and delivers presentations. May represent Metropolitan within the area of responsibility to obtain or convey information and resolve issues. May develop and administer contracts and agreements; oversee the work of vendors, consultants, and contractors. May serve on a project team. Develops and maintains databases within the area of responsibility. Develops and updates standards, procedures, guidelines, and manuals. May provide emergency response within the area of responsibility. May act as resident inspector within the area of responsibility. Performs other related Engineering Technician job duties as required. Corrosion

Performs infrastructure condition assessments and implements protection measures. Performs testing, evaluation, and analysis in the areas of materials performance, selection, and metallurgy for infrastructure reliability. Maintenance Management

Develops plans, conducts cost-benefit analysis, and implements standard maintenance processes, strategies, and metrics for maintenance decisions. Maintains, modifies, and tests the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Establishes and recommends standard frequency dates or maintenance intervals. Control Systems

Performs evaluation, testing, installation, and upgrades of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system. Performs plant startup for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition instrumentation and control. Performs development, support, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system software and hardware, database, graphics, and applications. Performs real-time Automatic Process Control and Programmable Logic Controller development, support, and maintenance. May assist with research on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition technologies. Conducts factory acceptance testing and integration of new systems and hardware, and software upgrades. Receives, reviews, and implements Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition change requests. Performs Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system administration, security, and network support and maintenance. Contracts

Monitors, reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding contractor schedules, change orders, working days, claims, and disputes. Evaluates monthly progress payment requests and prepares pay estimates, including withholding of funds.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education development test (GED),

nd two years of accredited college or university in engineering, and six years of relevant experience, two years of which must have been at the Engineering Technician II level. This position

requires competence and demonstrated ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve SCADA server & desktop

pplication and operating system problems,

including hands-on experience in server management and best practices. This position will also work closely with IT and project management teams, and SCADA network/security team members in order to maintain a secure and properly working SCADA network. Strong knowledge/expereince of

Linux;

Ability to set up and maintain infrastructure automation and management tools, satellite servers, and familiarity with SolarWinds and Sophos or other similar applications; Develop and maintain images and configure an operating-system deployment strategy using Linux management tools; Perform the administration and management of Linux based SCADA Infrastructure; Maintain software updates on Linux based controllers; Familiarity working with virtual environments. Strong knowledge of

Linux bility to

RHCS CompTIA Linux+ LPIC-2 LFCS General Required Knowledge of:

Practical application of engineering science and technology; arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and their applications; applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations; design principles and techniques; project management; construction means and methods; facility planning; technical research, analysis and report preparation; applicable safety practices; and current office equipment and technology.

Corrosion Required Knowledge of:

Corrosion science; corrosion control methods including coatings, material selection, and cathodic protection; waterworks corrosion issues and control methods.

Maintenance Management Required Knowledge of:

Mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance practices; computerized maintenance management systems; maintenance planning practices; cost-benefit value analyses.

Contracts Required Knowledge of:

Construction management and administration; cost estimating procedures; value engineering; quality assurance and quality control.

General Required Skills and Abilities to:

Develop and implement maintenance plans and processes; analyze systems and processes.

Contracts Required Skills and Ability to:

Prepare cost estimates and schedules; use project management software.
