Yavapai County Juvenile Probation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor/Social Worker to provide critical mental health consultation and case management services to youth involved in the juvenile justice system. This key role plays a vital part in supporting positive behavioral change, promoting emotional well-being, and connecting youth and their families with community-based services. Advocates for families regarding mental health issues including making appropriate referrals to community based mental health providers. Provides crisis intervention and brief counseling services to clients until community services can begin. Provides consultation and training to staff regarding mental health. Conducts social/emotional assessments, provides assessments, and service coordination/case management as appropriate. Partners with community mental health services through participation in coalitions and develops a comprehensive network of community resources/providers. Manages caseload and balances responsibilities of multiple programs. Advocates for the development and remains knowledgeable about resources within the community. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral science field, including, but not limited to, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Counseling, and/or Social Work. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a counselor working with teens, adults, and families dealing with mental illness, substance abuse, and behavioral issues. Additional Requirements:

Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license. JUVENILE PROBATION U.S. citizen or have legal resident status.

Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.

Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation, fingerprinting, criminal history check, psychological examination, urinalysis screening for illicit drugs and driving records check through the Motor Vehicles Division. May be required to successfully pass a polygraph examination, physical examination, and/or credit check. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
