Magna-Power Electronics, a Flemington, New Jersey based electronics manufacturer, is seeking a Transformer Assembler to join its dedicated world class team. The Transformer Assembler will perform a combination of winding and assembling of various magnetic components according to company specifications. The assembler will use hand and power tools, read electrical diagrams, and follow samples to complete various assembly duties or winding magnetic components. Given the complex nature of the products, there will be significant hands-on training and interaction with various Magna-Power teams.
The Transformer Assembler is responsible for:
Assembling and laminating main magnetic components according to required specifications
Using hand tools to twist, bend, trim, strip, and crimp wire leads of transformers to required lengths
Soldering wire leads of transformers/inductors using hand soldering iron or solder pot
Varnishing and baking transformers in the oven according to department procedures
Gluing and clamping various chopper chokes
Reading blue prints and schematics
Assembling various inductors according to required specifications
Winding coils (with or without machinery assistance) as specified by datasheets and electrical diagrams
Operating core machine for manufacturing steel cores in assembly of the transformers
The education and experience for this position includes:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 1-year related experience is preferred
Good mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools
Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
Knowledge in performing crimping, soldering, and assembly i s preferred
Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings and other related manufacturing documents
is preferred
