Job Title:
Application Developer with UniVerse DBA Experience
Location:
Philadelphia, PA Area (On-site to start, with potential for Hybrid)
Overview:
An established software and services company in the Philadelphia, PA area is seeking a resourceful, accountable, and customer-oriented software developer with experience in MultiValue (Rocket UniVerse) programming and system administration.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain enterprise software applications in the UniVerse RDBMS environment. Administer and manage the UniVerse database, ensuring optimal performance and security. Communicate with customers (via phone, remote sessions, live chat, and email) to identify and resolve support issues. Create and maintain 3rd-party interfaces. Analyze specific product support assignments from senior developers; take ownership through full resolution. Perform comprehensive testing of new software modules and releases. Deliver software updates and patches to customers as needed. Write technical specifications and support documentation. Assist in on-site customer training, support, and implementation of software applications. Willingness to travel occasionally, mostly on the East Coast and Midwest. Requirements
Skills & Requirements:
College degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred). Programming experience with MultiValue RDBMS languages (UniVerse preferred). Experience in UniVerse system administration and DBA tasks. Ability to troubleshoot and read through code to resolve technical issues independently. Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, whether to technical peers or non-technical colleagues/customers. Experience with advanced features in Excel, and experience in professional/office work is preferred. Experience with supporting database-driven, transactional web applications is a plus. Work Environment:
On-site to start, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid model after initial training. The candidate should be within commuting distance to the Philadelphia, PA area and available to be in-office much of the week at the outset. Ideal Candidate:
Early to mid-career with UniVerse experience, particularly in system administration. Resourceful and independent, yet a team player who values in-person collaboration for knowledge transfer and growth.
