Job Description

Responsibilities include utilizing evidence-based practices /guidelines with the goal of preventing healthcare-associated conditions and preventing patient harm. This role collects, analyzes, and reports opportunities for healthcare-associated conditions and safety events. This position evaluates patient care and hospital practices in MUSC inpatient settings to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, hospital policies/procedures and evidence-based practices. This role works collaboratively with other departments to ensure staff, patient and visitor public health safety. This position collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams for implementation of evidence-based guidelines and performance improvement and implements plans, projects and programs to improve clinical outcomes. This position will serve as a mentor to clinical staff, engage in nursing department process improvement efforts and action planning.

Education:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing,

REQUIRED.

Experience:

Previous acute care clinical experience required. Attention to detail and follow-up necessary. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, hospital staff, physicians and community resources required. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to work under stress.

Licenses/Certificates:

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school. Must have active South Carolina RN license.
