This position is a lead role in developing tools to support planning and engineering groups in the management of key company initiatives and strategies. Includes partnering in a team environment or be able to independently design, develop, code, test, debug and implement database applications to accommodate user needs of moderate to complex scope and difficulty including graphical user interfaces and interfaces with other systems. Using systems thinking as an approach to problem solving, develop solutions through database design, and be responsible for documenting solutions, logical data models, and data flows. Demonstrate and apply a variety of technical skills including knowledge of multiple programming languages and the ability to quickly learn communication technologies. They bridge the gap between developers and project managers, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative development culture. Participate in software development using Agile/Scrum methodologies. Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives to plan, track, and code development tasks. Participate in one or more Scrum teams with focus on open source technologies best practices. Champion Agile/Scrum methodologies and adaption of Lumen's Agile Software Engineering Process. Monitor and manage changes for supported applications including the managing and distribution of team assignments. Translate simple to complex user stories into functional and actionable software. Create visual representations of logical business processes using Visio or other open-source design tools. Adapt to new technologies, particularly those providing reporting capabilities. Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications software. Provide on-call support. Set the technical direction for projects, make key architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, foster a collaborative and productive environment, and provide constructive feedback. Manage the software development lifecycle, create and maintain project schedules, track progress, and identify and resolve potential roadblocks. Ensure code quality through code reviews, implement automated testing strategies, and contribute to the development of robust and scalable software. Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and other teams to ensure alignment and clarity on project goals and progress. Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and best practices, identify opportunities for innovation, and drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies. Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, debug code, and ensure the stability and reliability of the software. Oversee the release management process, ensuring smooth and controlled deployments of software releases. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software architecture, design decisions, and coding practices. What We Look For In A Candidate
Expert in industry-specific voice knowledge with detailed understanding of the voice domain, especially in telephone number provisioning. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or related field or the equivalent in training and experience. 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8+ years of experience with a Master's Degree. 5+ years of experience in data warehousing and/or business intelligence. 5+ years of experience developing applications and business solutions. Ability to lead and work in a team-oriented environment where team members and business partners are located across the US and internationally. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks to meet established deadlines while accommodating rapidly changing priorities. Experience analyzing, designing, refining, and maintaining information processing systems in a large application environment. Experience using structured specification coding and documentation techniques. Work experience with at least one major computing platform. Efficient in programming languages such as Java (expertise), .Net, SQL, and basic knowledge of scripting languages like Bash or Python. Fluent with frameworks and libraries such as Spring Boot (advanced), Spring Framework (core, data, security, MVC), Hibernate/JPA, Apache Kafka / Confluent Kafka, RESTful Web Services, and JUnit/TestNG for testing. Proficient in one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure). Experience with cloud services like AKS, Logic Apps, and Service Bus. Knowledge of cloud architecture and best practices. Experience with WebLogic and WebSphere administration and configuration of WebLogic Server. Skilled in deployment and monitoring of applications on WebLogic. Proficient in troubleshooting and performance tuning on WebLogic and WebSphere. Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors. Location Based Pay Ranges: $103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY. $108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI. $114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
