We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior SAP Analyst
with deep functional expertise in the
SAP Controlling (CO) module
to support the U.S. Navys Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role will focus on providing expert-level analysis, configuration, and support across Navy financial management operations, with an emphasis on cost control, internal orders, budgeting, and audit compliance.
The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of SAP functional experiencespecifically within complex federal environmentsand demonstrate a proven ability to align system functionality with Navy-specific financial and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the functional design, configuration, and implementation of the SAP Controlling (CO) module, including Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Profit Centers, and Budget Execution.
Analyze and refine Navy ERP processes related to cost accounting, funds control, performance tracking, and cost allocations.
Collaborate with cross-functional SAP teams (FI, FM, PS, MM, and SD) to ensure seamless integration and alignment with Navy financial operations.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications and design documents to support enhancements, reports, and system improvements.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with DoD financial management regulations.
Conduct root cause analysis of functional and data-related issues; recommend and implement corrective actions.
Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on Navy ERP CO module best practices and controls.
Develop test scripts, lead testing efforts, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for CO-related solutions.
Engage with Navy stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate training, and ensure system adoption.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, or related technical field.
10+ years of hands-on SAP ERP experience, with at least 5 years specializing in the Controlling (CO) module.
Strong understanding of federal financial regulations (e.g., FFMIA, FISCAM, FMFIA) and their implications on SAP CO processes.
Direct experience supporting SAP Navy ERP or other large-scale DoD SAP implementations.
Expertise in internal orders, cost center accounting, planning, budgeting, and reporting.
Proven ability to engage with senior-level clients, present findings, and lead functional workstreams.
Qualifications:
Experience with U.S. Navy financial operations, including BSOs, NWCF, GF, and ERP Business Office operations
Familiarity with SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), Funds Management (FM), and integration with ECC or S/4HANA environments.
Experience in Agile or hybrid development environments within a government program setting.
SAP certification in Controlling (CO) or Public Sector Financials (PSM-FM).
