PGS Worldwide is actively seeking an experienced

Solder Assembler

for a

one-year contract-to-hire

opportunity supporting advanced aerospace and defense electronics in Oldsmar, Florida. This role is ideal for candidates with significant experience in high-precision soldering, component rework, and circuit card assembly in a fast-paced production environment. Due to the nature of the program, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform advanced rework on circuit card assemblies, including: BGA reballing and replacement QFN and other leadless package rework High-density connector repair Complex SMT and fine-pitch component replacement

Assemble and solder electronic components (both SMT and through-hole) Conduct mechanical assembly operations, including installation of stand-offs, spacers, and bonding components using adhesives or epoxies Use microscopes and inspection tools to ensure precise part placement and orientation Inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with complex electronic assemblies Develop or follow rework procedures and collaborate with engineering teams for continuous improvement Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to quality standards Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in advanced soldering, rework, and electronic assembly Strong hands-on experience with soldering irons, reflow ovens, and associated rework tools Proficient in soldering tasks related to fine pitch, high-density, SMT, and through-hole components IPC certification in soldering and rework (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721) Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Able to read/write in English and follow technical documentation Comfortable using computers and inspection/test systems (microscopes, X-ray, AOI/AXI) Must pass a medical exam per supplier requirements U.S. Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using automated optical inspection (AOI) and X-ray inspection (AXI) systems Background in aerospace or high-reliability electronics assembly environments Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams
