POSITION:

Extended Day Site Director - Preschool Care Extended Day Program

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate. Minimum of 60 hours of college course work, including 12 hours a in child related field. Previous experience working with school-age children. Demonstrate aptitude and/or competence working with school age children.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary staff member responsible for planning and implementing a program which provides for physical activities, self-expression through arts, crafts and play, and socialization with peers. Work cooperatively with site team, Program Coordinator, building principal and building staff to share space cooperatively. Maintain program equipment and supplies and maintain an up-to-date inventory list. Develop effective communication with the parents of children enrolled in the program. Works with School Resource Personnel as needed. Provide a safe, nurturing, child-oriented environment and meet Environmental Health guidelines regarding cleanliness. Assist Program Coordinator in ensuring site meets DHS licensing regulations. Complete all appropriate paperwork including but not limited to lesson plans, purchase order requisitions, attendance records, accident reports, contact logs. Work on all half days that care is provided. Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

RATE OF PAY:

$19.20 - $22.60 Pay based on education and experience

HOURS:

24 hours per week Monday - Thursday 6:45am - 8:30am and 2:45pm - 6:15pm Applicant must be able to work all 8 shifts 4 hours of planning per week

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

T.B test upon employment at the expense of the applicant.

Upon recommendation for employment, applicants must be fingerprinted under the Revised School Code (MCL 380.1230a) and under the Childcare Organizations Act (MCL 722.111). The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant. The cost for fingerprinting is approximately $70.00.

A second set of fingerprints is also needed for LARA (childcare licensing). The cost is approximately $61.00. Free vouchers may be available from LARA.
