The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) team is seeking a skilled Systems Development Engineer to enhance our Storage Services department. This role presents an exciting opportunity to leverage cutting-edge cloud computing technologies, helping U.S. Government agencies implement innovative solutions and tackle technical challenges.
As a key member of our team, you will work on high-impact projects involving Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), Amazon FSx, and Amazon S3 on Outposts. These services support some of our customers' most sensitive data, offering you the chance to contribute to large-scale systems while collaborating with some of the industry's brightest minds.
In this position, a strong focus on troubleshooting complex system operations across the enterprise is essential. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing innovative features for our services, enabling our customers to accomplish their missions effectively. A solid foundation in multiple operating systems, networking, and cloud services will be critical. You will engage with AWS's largest and most demanding clients to address their specific needs, diving deep into technical issues to enhance customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Support AWS Storage and Data services engineering and operations.
Conduct region and feature builds.
Monitor systems health and status.
Provision devices and assist with data ingestion.
Troubleshoot device, network, and configuration issues.
Document and communicate engineering recommendations.
Write after-action reports detailing key events and future plans.
Provide on-call support when required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of professional software development experience.
1+ years designing or architecting systems for reliability and scaling.
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals.
Experience programming with modern languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum methodology.
