Summary

VELOX is hiring a Full Stack Developer to help build and optimize the next generation of our internal tools, platforms, and client-facing technology. This is an in-house, full-time position at our headquarters in Boise, Idaho.

You should have expert-level front-end and back-end development skills, a keen eye for performance, accessibility, and SEO, and the ability to collaborate with designers, strategists, and marketers. You will build responsive user interfaces, maintain scalable backend services, and contribute to process innovation with a product-driven mindset.

Core Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and scale responsive web applications and tools from idea to deployment

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute UI/UX designs with precision

Design, build, and optimize RESTful APIs, backend systems, and MySQL databases

Write clean, well-documented, and efficient front-end and back-end code

Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the tech stack

Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of applications

Participate in code reviews and drive continual improvement in engineering workflows

Required Technical Experience

Front-End Skills

HTML/CSS (semantic, accessible markup)

JavaScript (ES6+), React

Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap (strong knowledge of at least one)

Back-End Skills

PHP (intermediate to advanced)

MySQL (schema design, queries, performance tuning)

RESTful API development and integration

Bonus Experience

Laravel or other modern PHP frameworks

Familiarity with deployment pipelines and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Forge)

Familiarity with Laravel-based full-stack frameworks (Inertia.js, Livewire)

Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and SEO technical best practices

Experience with CMS and eCommerce platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce)

Exposure to AI and LLM technologies (e.g., OpenAI API, LangChain, custom AI integrations)

Ideal Candidate Profile

A self-starter with strong time management and problem-solving skills

Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally

Has a sharp product sense and enjoys solving business problems with code

Excels at turning ambiguous goals into concrete technical solutions

Obsessed with user experience and building for performance at scale

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on development experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Familiarity with Google Cloud or other cloud platforms is a plus

Knowledge of marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and Google Ads is a bonus
