Performance Optimization: Optimizing application performance for high-volume processing. Collaboration: Working with systems analysts, other developers, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and reliability. Documentation: Maintaining application and programming documentation. Troubleshooting: Responding to troubleshooting requests and resolving issues related to mainframe applications. Staying Updated: Keeping up-to-date with system updates and new technologies. Client Interaction: Interacting with clients to gather requirements and provide project status updates. Mentorship: Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members. Required Skills: Assembler Language: Deep understanding and extensive experience in mainframe Assembler programming. Mainframe Technologies: Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and other mainframe technologies. z/OS: Working knowledge of the z/OS operating system. Debugging Tools: Experience with mainframe debugging tools like IPCS, XDC, and FILEAID. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills for debugging and performance tuning. Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills. Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile framework. Additional Skills (depending on the role):Experience with modernization projects. Knowledge of cloud technologies. Experience with data transformation and processing. Familiarity with event-driven architecture. Experience with technical design writing and documentation. Experience with modern development tools and platforms.
