Key tasks and strategic accountability
: Accountable for leading strategy development and deployment (SDD). Ensure strategic alignment through cascading Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) top-down and bottom-up. Support site leadership in creating a strategic vision, improvement goals, a site master plan, and a governance process across relevant excellence components. Partner with plant leadership and business unit managers to co-develop and achieve the plant's implementation of operational excellence and cost improvement plans. Coach the plant leadership team on excellence components, emphasizing benchmarking and developing a zero-loss mentality to optimize quality, delivery, cost, and safety. Develop capability through component teams to establish fundamentals of excellence in safety, quality, and reliability. Ensure proper focus and resource allocation. Coordinate deployment of excellence components and progressively advanced methodologies. Align multifunctional resources to achieve long-term CI objectives. Teach, coach, and demonstrate proficiency in excellence methodologies, including SDD, core components, zero-loss mentality, and related tools. Lead and facilitate breakthrough Kaizen events. Lead the Focused Improvement component team and support the development of problem-solving capabilities across all levels. Drive collaboration to sustain and deliver a multi-year cost-to-win (CtW) portfolio. Coordinate component and project teams to eliminate losses based on strategic goals. Lead or support improvement projects driven by the loss landscape to meet or exceed CtW goals. Build and grow operational excellence capability to support the site's cost-saving program. Empower teams to sustainably eliminate factory loss through improved problem-solving and awareness. Coordinate development and implementation of improvement objectives. Provide financial data to support reporting and budget alignment. Create and manage the CI budget. Supervise factory engineers. Report progress on OEE, savings, and other metrics for global reporting and visibility. Serve on the plant leadership team. Provide input into key decisions and resource planning. Operate with minimal day-to-day oversight. Impact on Results:
Accountable for achieving key operational goals, including factory-loss and CtW targets. Responsible for capability development to sustain SQDC performance improvements. Plays a critical role in major initiatives and breakthrough events. Manages the operational excellence budget and maintains the loss landscape and multi-year project pipeline. Knowledge and Skills:
Proven experience in project and facilities management in a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management tools and multitasking under pressure. Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles. Lean Six Sigma certification preferred. Supervision:
Directly supervises 3-4 exempt associates, including members of the CI team and the Learning and Development Leader. Qualifications and Requirements:
B.A./B.S. in Engineering or Business Administration. Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience. Minimum 4-5 years of leadership experience in a plant. Minimum 3 years operating a production system or in operational excellence. Previous experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma systems. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred. Experience working in multi-site, multicultural environments. Skills and Competencies:
High-speed automation manufacturing knowledge. Strong customer focus and operational excellence mindset. Effective verbal and written communication across all levels. Project/program management expertise. Business insight and financial competence. Ability to travel up to 25%. Fluent in English. Ability to lead in a matrixed environment and influence without authority. Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and results orientation. Safety shoes (steel toe, non-slip) are required on the production floor.
