TEGNA is looking for a skilled and collaborative
Microservices Developer
to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will help build and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient backend services that power our content platform, APIs, digital products, and data-driven workflows. You'll work within a modular architecture that supports everything from media asset management to content curation and personalized user experiences.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy microservices in C# that adhere to our event-driven, cloud-native architecture. Actively participate in agile sprints, sprint planning, and retrospectives, working closely with onshore and offshore team members. Use AI tools to accelerate development, generate documentation, and improve test coverage. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, architecture, and frontend developers to deliver well-integrated solutions. Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that supports scalability, observability, and maintainability. Help identify and eliminate technical debt through proactive refactoring and code improvements. Contribute to the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation strategies Participate in code reviews, planning sessions, and documentation as part of our agile workflow. Troubleshoot issues, monitor performance, and proactively address any potential bottlenecks or challenges
Requirements
36 years of backend development experience with C#/.NET and REST APIs Solid understanding of microservices architecture, messaging patterns, and cloud-native principles Experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes-based deployments Familiarity with distributed systems and asynchronous processing Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a bias toward action and continuous improvement Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern dev workflows Familiarity with event-driven architecture and CQRS patterns desired but not required Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools desired but not required

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctors appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
