Job Summary
W e are seeking a skilled Network Administrator with a strong focus on Cisco routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise networking systems. Key duties include overseeing equipment lifecycle management (Renew & Replace), ensuring optimal performance, executing firmware/security patching, and proactively identifying and resolving network issues. The role supports both wired and wireless networks, with responsibilities that include Wi-Fi access point deployment and SSID management.
Key Responsibilities Configure, monitor, and maintain network hardware and software including routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points. Lead and support enterprise network upgrades through the Renew and Replace (R&R) process. Conduct regular switch health checks, firmware updates, and security patching. Monitor and optimize both wired and wireless network performance, ensuring high availability and coverage. Manage network address assignments, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, STP), and authentication/authorization directory services. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network performance issues and document findings. Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing. Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams and hardware/software inventories. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide support for voice architecture and QoS optimization. Adhere to change management protocols and service delivery standards. Stay current with emerging technologies and participate in continuous training.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2+ years of professional experience in a network administration role in a large corporate environment OR A combination of 6 years of education, training, and experience in installing, supporting, and maintaining network systems in a large-scale environment. Proven understanding of network architecture, design, and protocols including TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP. Experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco network devices and enterprise wireless (Wi-Fi) systems. Proficient in network monitoring and performance tools. Ability to work under general supervision, prioritize tasks, and manage m ultiple assignments.
Preferred Qualifications E xperience with voice architecture and protocols (UDP, RTP, RTCP). Familiarity with networked/distributed computing environments and VPN gateways. Hands-on experience with QoS management for voice optimization. Prior exposure to disaster recovery and emergency network planning.
Certifications (if any) Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable. Other industry-recognized networking or IT infrastructure certifications are a plus.
