Staffing Inc is partnered with a small workshop family-owned company in Grand Rapids, who is actively looking to hire a qualified Final Assembly Craftsmen to start immediately. The ideal candidate will play a key role in utilizing their woodworking skills on a variety of custom projects for clients. You will work closely with team members from adjacent departments and engineering to ensure the successful build of each project. Interpret shop drawings to build furniture, cabinets and displays that are accurate and of high-quality construction and finish. Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements. Set-up and operate woodworking tools including power saws, edge banders, sanders, router, to cut, mold, or shape wood stock, laminate, or solid surfaces. Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications. Gather the elements of each product and assemble the final product per design intent. Routine communication with engineering and purchasing to address design flaws, improve ease of construction, address material issues and general improvements for future builds. Flex between areas of need throughout the production environment. Planning an effective approach to work to ensure that each project is completed on time. Final Assembly Craftsmen Qualifications:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Prior experience in a custom woodworking environment, with a portfolio of completed works. Ability to read component and final assembly drawings. Must be able to accurately read and interpret a tape measure or ruler and figure fractions to precise measurements. Must be able to safely operate shop tools (miter and circular saws, planer, sander, router, drill etc.) Experience working with a wide range of materials including hardwoods, veneers, particle board, and laminates. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new skills. Able to communicate clearly, effectively, and courteously in a team-based environment. Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship. Physical ability: candidates must be able to work all day on their feet including bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting. Lift 10-50lbs regularly, and 100lbs+, occasionally.
