is currently seeking a full-time, detail-oriented and motivated

Engineering Technician

to support our engineering team in the design, development, testing and troubleshooting of our new and existing electronics products and production equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience with engineering tools and processes, ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics as well as experience in soldering and reflowing various electronic components.

This is a Monday through Friday on-site role at our Buffalo Grove, Illinois facilities. The position reports to the Lead Hardware Engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist engineers in the design, development, testing and troubleshooting of various electronic systems Set up and operate test equipment and instrumentation to conduct experiments or evaluate performance Document tests and test results, write procedures Support product development and quality assurance processes Operate a Prototype PCB assembly line (manual and automated Pick and Place machines, stencil printer, reflow ovens) Perform soldering and rework tasks Perform basic diagnostics on customer returns as well as devices that failed production testing Perform environmental testing (thermal chamber, ESD, drop testing, etc.) Create wire looms and wire up various pieces of hardware Operate an X-Ray machine designed for scanning electronic devices Track lab equipment and facilitate calibration Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on experience in PCB assembly, soldering, and reflow soldering Proficient in soldering both fine-pitch SMD and through-hole components Circuit testing and debugging skills Ability to read and understand schematics Proficient with electronic test equipment such as DMMs and oscilloscopes Patient, detail oriented and willing to learn Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Good documentation and communication skills Comfortable working in a lab or small production environment with minimal supervision Friendly, flexible, and a team player Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work autonomously while meeting required deadlines Good problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications

Experience programming and operating automated Pick-n-place machines Familiarity with IPC standards IPC-A-610 Certification

Compensation and Benefits

At HP Tuners LLC, we understand that compensation plays a key role when considering a new opportunity. We are dedicated to ensuring fair pay for all employees and continually work towards greater transparency in our compensation practices. The estimated base range for this position is

$30.00-31.25 per hour , with actual pay determined including factors such as location, skills, experience, and other relevant considerations. This position also qualifies for a discretionary bonus and a complete benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, paid time off (PTO), and a 401(k) program with employer matching.
