About the Position
The company is on the lookout for a
BIM/VDC Team Leader
to enhance their dynamic team. In this essential role, you will spearhead the 3D design and coordination of BIM/VDC drawings tailored for significant commercial plumbing projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure that digital models seamlessly convert into successful installations on-site. This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate and derive value through effective BIM/VDC strategies from preconstruction to project completion, focusing on optimal coordination, conflict reduction, and enhanced buildability. Key Responsibilities: Direct the creation and coordination of BIM/VDC models for commercial plumbing systems. Work in collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure design intent is effectively implemented. Conduct clash detection and troubleshoot design challenges using Navisworks or comparable tools. Synchronize with field teams to facilitate layout, prefabrication, and installation processes. Develop and uphold BIM execution plans, standards, and industry best practices. Guide junior modelers/designers and foster continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements 5+ years of experience in BIM/VDC modeling, ideally within the commercial construction or MEP sectors. Expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other essential BIM software. Robust understanding of commercial plumbing systems and construction sequencing. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and models effectively. Experience with coordination meetings and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is an advantage.
