Assistant Principal/School Support Specialist Job Description
The Assistant Principal/School Support Specialist at St. Anne Catholic Grade School supports the Principal in fostering a faith-based educational environment. He/she helps manage daily school operations, ensures adherence to academic and disciplinary standards, promotes Catholic values, and assists in guiding both staff and students in their spiritual and academic growth.
QUALIFICATIONS Active member of a Catholic parish faith community. Master's Degree in Educational Administration or equivalent. Valid State of Michigan teaching and administrative certificate. Successful teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle school level. Demonstrated ability to provide quality leadership through: excellent communication skills strong problem solving skills ability to use a variety of leadership styles ability to plan, organize, and execute the full range of administrative tasks skill in creating an open and well-organized teaching and learning environment fostering the continued growth of staff members
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Establish a culture of high expectations for Catholic faith, academics, and behavior. Assist students in developing responsibility for their conduct, and promote students' respect and kindness for others. Provide support and implement interventions to address students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs, promoting their overall success and well-being. Meet regularly with parents, students, and staff to assist in meeting the needs of the diverse group of learners. Assist with coordination of faith formation and sacramental programs with the Pastor. Cooperatively monitor the safety and administration of the school and respond to emergency situations. Implement Archdiocesan policies at the school level and communicate them effectively. Demonstrate the understanding of instructional best practices and alignment to curriculum. Monitor, assist, and support curriculum implementation. Use a systematic program of visitation, evaluation, and conferencing to provide clear and consistent direction to staff. Collaborate closely with the Principal to support school-wide initiatives, foster a positive learning environment, and ensure the effective implementation of academic and operational goals. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pastor and/or Principal to support the smooth operation and success of the school.
