Summary of Responsibility:

Within these companies, our Applications Engineers are bringing expertise in the newest technology in machines, cutting tools, programming software. We need your validated experience to bring innovative ideas to our customers. Morris is looking for the brightest machinists and programmers to offer the best training, problem solving, customer support and solutions that are unmatched by our competitors. The Applications Engineer Lead position will oversee the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions tailored to customer needs and internal business requirements. This role combines strong engineering expertise with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of application engineers and collaborating cross-functionally with product management and sales.

What You Will Contribute:

Lead and mentor a team of applications engineers, providing technical direction and career development support

Act as the primary technical liaison between customers, product teams and engineering

Drive the development and deployment of application solutions, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and industry standards

Translate complex customer requirements into detailed technical solutions and turnkey proposals

Collaborate with the sales team during pre-sales engagements to deliver product demos, technical presentations, and feasibility assessments

Develop and maintain documentation, including design specs, users guides, and training materials

Identify process improvements, tool enhancements, and automation opportunities to increase team efficiency

Stay current with emgerging technologies and industry trends to recommend product or process upgrades

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality

Support post-deployment troubleshooting and serve as an escalation point for advanced technical issues

Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss style lathes

Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines

Other Functions:

Qualifications & Competencies:

Strong hands-on machining background with at least 2 years of experience with CNC machines

Experience on Fanuc and Okuma controls is a plus

Proven solid understanding of CAD/CAM software is vital

MasterCam, Esprit and Solidworks experience is a plus

Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills required

Frequent travel throughout our regional territory
