Role: Go Specialist Contractor
Summary: Seeking an experienced Go developer to enhance and maintain the Go ecosystem within a large monorepo. The role includes upgrading SDKs, managing dependencies, improving tooling, and optimizing performance. Collaboration with infrastructure teams is key, along with providing Go-related support during business hours.
Responsibilities: Upgrade Go SDK/runtime and foundational libraries
Build and maintain Go dependency tooling
Enhance debugging, IDE integration, linters, and static analysis tools
Improve Go documentation and developer best practices
Integrate tooling with dependency management systems
Drive performance profiling and optimization initiatives
Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams
Provide business hours support for Go-related issues
Requirements:
8+ years of software development experience
Expert-level Go programming skills
Experience with Bazel and large-scale systems
Background in C/C++ and library development
Strong knowledge of performance tuning and OS internals preferred
