Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior SQL Developer to join their team! This position is remote.
Duties:
Develop, design, and maintain complex SQL Server databases, including designing and implementing schemas, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures Create and optimize complex SQL queries, including the ability to write complex stored procedures and functions Manage database security and access control, including developing and implementing security policies and procedures, performing database backups, and implementing disaster recovery plans Identify and troubleshoot database issues and performance problems, including analyzing database performance metrics, diagnosing problems, and tuning databases to optimize performance Collaborate with software developers and other stakeholders to ensure that databases meet their needs and requirements Work with database vendors to stay up-to-date with new technologies, features, and trends Document database design, data flow, dependencies, and integrations for support Analyze data and identify performance related gaps and provide solutions wherever applicable Develop monitoring plans for proactive support of databases both on-prem and in the cloud Create, document and support disaster recovery planning and procedure development Desired Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field 3+ years of experience in SQL Server development on the Azure Cloud platform Strong proficiency in SQL Server development tools, including SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio, and Azure SQL Database Experience in Azure Cloud platform features such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and Cosmos Experience with database security, backup, and recovery procedures Familiarity with database security, backup, and recovery procedures in the Azure Cloud Strong knowledge of T-SQL programming, database design, and optimization techniques Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques Ability to write complex stored procedures, functions, and SQL queries Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Benefits:
