Responsibilities

The Program Manager, Academic & Student Services will oversee Engineering Employer Relations. This position leads strategic outreach and planning for several of the Career Center's signature programs. This role drives employer engagement to enhance student career development and expand opportunities like internships, experiential learning, and post-graduation outcomes. Additionally, the incumbent plans and implements the goals, objectives, and procedures of this student service to successfully manage the comprehensive delivery of Career Center resources to all College of Engineering students.

Manage the planning and execution of key career events, including the Engineering Job & Internship Fair, Resume Review Day, and Biomedical Day, while designing innovative and skill-building event programming to showcase engineering career paths and apply student skills through real-world challenges. Manage the collaboration with employers and the College of Engineering partners to deliver impactful, hands-on experiences that connect students with industry. Manage logistics with cross-functional teams and implement curated engagement opportunities like industry panels and networking events to strengthen employer and alumni relationships. Build and manage relationships with employers and collaborate with stakeholders, including the Office of the Dean and faculty, to ensure a positive recruitment experience. Document various interactions for assessment and reporting purposes to demonstrate the impact of the program's engagement.

Manages the Engineering Employer Relations Program for employers, alumni, and organizations offering early career opportunities. Identifies and creates strategic employer development and recruiting plans to deepen relationships for part-time, summer, seasonal, internship, experiential learning, and full-time hiring opportunities. Supports the development and execution of core Career Center initiatives, including recruiting services and career advising. Contributes to university assessment efforts in collaboration with university and divisional partners. Maintains accurate program data and advising records, and advances strategic projects aligned with Career Center priorities under the direction of senior leadership.

Manages strategic career advising and programming to support students' professional development, job search readiness, and graduate school preparation. Leads the delivery of tailored workshops, presentations, and resources that promote career competencies and lifelong career navigation.

Represents the Career Center in engineering-focused and broader professional associations, cultivating networks at the state, regional, and national levels. Serve on Career Center, Division of Student Affairs, and University committees as needed. Support FSU Division of Student Affairs (DSA) and College/Departments' student and stakeholder engagement programs such as orientation, preview day, welcome week events, family weekend, homecoming, etc., contributing to strategic initiatives. Supports high-impact student and stakeholder engagement events in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs and academic partners.

Serves as a subject matter expert on labor market trends and industry insights, while building strategic partnerships with student organizations and stakeholders to expand engagement. Innovate career exploration initiatives that connect students and alumni with meaningful professional opportunities

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of career counseling and development. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to utilize problem solving skills. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Anticipated Salary Range

The anticipated starting salary for this position is in the range of mid-to-high $40,000's, commensurate with experience and education.
