QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Minnesota PELSB license in appropriate area preferred and/or required:
K-12 Social Worker Applicant must also hold a license with the Minnesota Board of Social Work.

JOB DESCRIPTION: RPS is seeking a Clinical Social Worker to actively contribute to the ongoing success of programming that supports students with significant mental health needs. The successful candidate will foster a collaborative and positive climate and culture within and across school teams supporting an environment conducive to student achievement. This position requires close collaboration with the Director of Student Services, the Mental Health Coordinator, building principals and other school staff. The Clinical Social Worker will demonstrate flexibility and a systemic approach to problem-solving support for the holistic well-being and academic achievement of students identified for intensive service.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete annual diagnostic assessments for all students who are identified as eligible for services. Create and support the implementation of individual treatment plans that are informed by the needs identified in the diagnostic assessment for students eligible for services. Provide direct clinical supervision to Mental Health Practitioners using reflective and clinical consultation models in both group and individual formats. Enhance MHP understanding and response to mental health disorders, and facilitate access to and understanding of relevant skills training materials. Ensure adherence to public school record and CTSS documentation requirements while upholding all applicable federal, state, and local laws and policies. Facilitate effective service coordination between school districts and external agencies to ensure appropriate service delivery to students. Teach and model trauma-sensitive, mental health informed behavioral interventions to MHPs and other school staff who interact with students on MHP caseload. Conduct regular site visits to provide mental health-informed and trauma responsive support to MHPs, students receiving services, and teams supporting students. Attend various meetings as appropriate (e.g. IEP, CPC, etc). Obtain a working and functional knowledge of the district-wide strategic plan and how those components inform the work of CSWs and MHPs. Develop and lead professional development opportunities for the MHPs to include required annual training, and information aligning with mental health strategic plan work. Participate as an active member of the job-alike social work group
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master Degree from an accredited social work program State licensure as a LICSW and a valid PELSB licensure in Social Work Proficiency in mental health disorders, therapeutic techniques, and interventions in juvenile populations Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrated through outstanding written and verbal communication abilities Proven capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment Thorough understanding of the scope of practice in School Social Work Keen awareness and up-to-date knowledge of community resources and agencies Firm belief in the potential for all students to achieve high levels of learning Proficient coaching skills and adept at fostering positive relationships Eagerness to consistently engage in and promote the development of culturally responsive practices
