Job Summary Performs assessments and discharge planning for clients admitted to the Inpatient Unit at Brown County Community Treatment Center. Provides appropriate mental health services and AODA services to clients and their families through the development and implementation of treatment and discharge plans and prepares documentation for commitment and recommitment hearings. Provides group therapy to inpatient mental health and AODA clients.
Base rate: $32.33/hour Additional $3/hour special assignment pay currently offered for position Essential Duties Serves as liaison with consumers/clients, families, referral sources, community agents, third party payors
and others regarding services as needed; obtains and provides accurate and timely reports of
consumer/client status, progress and needs.
Works as part of interdisciplinary team in developing and implementing individual treatment plans that provide appropriate mental health services to clients.
Obtains social history information from the client, the family, or other agencies as part of the evaluation process.
Provides therapy to individuals and families in individual and group modalities of psychotherapy.
Assists inpatient clients with discharge planning, including living arrangements, outpatient treatment referrals to various agencies and/or community resources.
Acts as liaison with staff from contract counties regarding their clients who are receiving inpatient services.
Maintains the confidential nature of client and business information.
Represents social services as part of the interdisciplinary team in planning and implementation of the total inpatient program.
Explains the nature of probable cause hearing, commitment hearings, and recommitment hearings to the clients and relatives.
Arranges for appropriate transfer of out-of-state clients and requests financial reimbursement for units of service provided due to interstate compacts on mental health.
Completes concurrent reviews for client's insurance company.
Completes State Facility Referral forms prior to pre-placement visits or agreement of placement of Brown County clients into state facilities.
Reports suspected child abuse and neglect cases without the consent of clients to the Child Protective Services Department of the Department of Social Services.
Attends staff meetings, attends in-service and outside agency training sessions.
Completes and maintains necessary documentation to applicable requirements, codes and policies.
Complies with hospital policies. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Minimum Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Equivalent, is required, with 3,000 hours of supervised experience in clinical practice preferred. One year of experience in the mental health field, with experience in crisis intervention preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional required, or must be able to obtain Clinical Social Worker licensure within 2 years of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of psychopathology, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic techniques. Knowledge of various group therapy processes (e.g. psycho-education, process, adaptive skills training, etc.) Knowledge of laws (45, Chapter 51 and 55) and related court procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work the required hours of the position. Knowledge of community human services resources and utilization.
